Otis students were challenged by ACES children to develop a suite of projects that would beautify the campus, offer practical improvements to the day-to-day operation of the school, teach students about practical ecological and social sustainability, and inspire the children with art, color and life.
Otis students met the challenge by delivering a suite of powerful designs that create a more sustainable campus. Outcomes include: A Sculptural Trellis that will be covered by CA native plants that will shade a classroom. A water-harvesting drinking fountain and water capture cisterns. A community garden.
