In my rapid prototyping phase, I developed some possible solutions to help empower the students. Originally, I created a pepper spray packaging that could be distributed to all the students, so they would always be able to defend themselves. During the user testing, though, I discovered that some students felt more vulnerable keeping pepper spray on their keychain. One student said that it could be used against you just as easily as it could act as your defense.

So I scratched the idea, and moved on.

The wallet booklet idea received all positive feedback though, because all the information is so relevant, they said. So it’s in my final system!
