Actress Ginnifer Goodwin wore the eco-chic dress, created by Academy of Art fashion students for their Design Ignites Change project, to the 20th Anniversary of the Environmental Media Association Awards in Hollywood on Sunday evening.

Ginnifer’s strapless dress, which falls just below the knee, is made from hospital scrubs that would have normally been discarded. Academy of Art University’s 1 OAK student design team repurposed the scrubs using environmentally sensitive treatments and dyeing, before pleating the recycled fabric and creating their garments. The students of 1 OAK are: Priscilla Guimarais, Kumiko Haruyama, Nui Tanapornwattana, Audrey Wang and Tramaine Tillman.

About Ginnifer Goodwin:
In addition being an outspoken vegan and gracing the covers of many magazines, Ginnifer Goodwin is known for her roles in Big Love, He’s Just Not That Into You and the soon to be released A Single Man (Tom Ford’s directorial debut).
