Times Square Alliance joins Design Ignites Change as a supporting partner

May 14, 2009

Design Ignites Change is pleased to announce a new partnership with Times Square Alliance.

Founded in 1992, Times Square Alliance believes that creativity holds enormous power for fostering positive social change and, in that spirit, has joined Design Ignites Change as a Supporting Partner.

Tim Tompkins, President of the Alliance, said of the partnership, “Times Square has long been a focal point for creativity of any kind, so it’s only natural for the Times Square Alliance to foster creative expression, design and social action through this innovative program.”

In addition to Times Square Alliance, Design Ignites Change is also supported by Founding Partner, Adobe Youth Voices, and Supporting Partners: AIGA, Citizen Scholar, Cooper-Hewitt, Frog Design and Williams & House.

The Times Square Alliance works to improve and promote Times Square. In addition to providing safety and sanitation services, the Alliance coordinates many major programs in Times Square including New Year’s Eve and a new public art program, as well as managing the City’s busiest Tourism Center and advocating on behalf of its constituents with respect to a host of public policy, planning and quality-of-life issues.
