John Peterson is the Founder and President of Public Architecture, a national nonprofit organization that is mobilizing designers to use their skills and expertise to drive social change. He is also the principal of Peterson Architects in San Francisco. He was a Loeb Fellow at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. John is the recipient of the Nice Modernist award from Dwell magazine, citations and design awards from all levels of the AIA. In 2009, he was recognized alongside John Cary with the Designer of the Year from Contract magazine. John has degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. He is a registered architect in the state of California.
