Joan Bodensteiner

Throughout her career, Joan Bodensteiner has been a strong advocate for and a leader in creating strategies that leverage the power of community and social marketing to grow businesses, increase customer loyalty and create a sustainable competitive advantage.

Most recently, Joan served as the Director of Product Marketing for Design and Digital Imaging at Adobe Systems, Inc., where she led the global marketing strategy for products serving the needs of creative professionals and advanced hobbyists including Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. In addition, she co-developed and managed Adobe’s initial foray into web-services with the launch of Adobe Stock Photos. She and her team created a number of award winning web properties such as “the Creative Mind” and the “Adobe Photographer’s Directory” focused on addressing the needs of the design, photography, print and publishing markets. She has led numerous efforts to promote the importance of design in business, and the impact of grass-root marketing efforts on the bottom-line.

Prior to Adobe, Joan spent over fifteen years as an advertising and marketing executive in database-marketing and interactive agencies working with a range of notable technology and consumer brands including Amazon, Apple, Intel, American Express, Frito Lay, Pizza Hut and others.

She currently serves on an advisory committee for Pacific Community Ventures, and acts as an informal advisor to other start up companies and entrepreneurs.

Joan holds an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University, Malibu CA, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Tippie School of Business, University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA.
